A careers adviser is also available for any students wishing to receive one-on-one guidance and support.

A free, professional counselling service is also available for students which aims to provide support in a number of areas including personal issues; mental health and wellbeing; stress, anxiety and depression; time management; procrastination and exam stress. Our counsellors are available on an appointment basis during working hours 9am–5pm Monday to Friday.

MIT Sydney has dedicated support services for students with disabilities and special needs. Call MIT Sydney on (02) 8267 1400 or email info.sydney@mit.edu.au.

Student Services ensure that new students are welcomed and supported in their transition to university life. The Buddy Program pairs up a first-year student with a current student who will ensure the new student is welcomed through informal, personalised and friendly social interactions.

Students can also take advantage of one-on-one academic support from lecturers and tutors, and benefit from active monitoring from staff, communication skills workshops and mentoring.

The MIT Sydney Peer Mentoring program is designed to assist all first-year commencing students to adapt to the higher education system. It is a free service for those requesting further guidance in specific subjects. We match new students with volunteer students who scored high results for that unit in the previous trimester. Mentors provide help with understanding the unit, completing assessment tasks and preparing for exams.
