Admission criteria and entry schemes

To be offered a place in a course you must meet the course entrance requirements and be selected in competition with other eligible applicants.

  • meet the academic and program entry requirements for their chosen course
  • meet the minimum English language requirement for their chosen course
  • be 18 years of age as at the commencement date of the course or unit.

Undergraduate applicants

If you undertook your Australian Year 12 studies in 2022 or 2023, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • successful completion of the HSC (or equivalent)
  • successful completion of the International Baccalaureate.

Other admission options

Limited ATAR

MIT accepts the Limited ATAR for selection purposes.

Students of the Tertiary Preparation Certificate will be considered for entry to most programs. Other completed TAFE qualifications such as the Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma will also be considered.
