Frequently asked questions about December Round 2 offers
How do I find out if I have received a December Round 2 offer?
Offers are released at 7.30am on Thursday 21 December 2017 on the My 91ÌÒÉ« mobile app or through .
What do I do when I receive an offer in December Round 2?
91ÌÒÉ« advises you to accept your offer. You may not receive an offer in the later rounds and if you don’t accept by the specified date, the offer will lapse and your position at university will be offered to someone else.
If I accept my December Round 2 offer, can I get an offer in a later round?
Yes. In January Round 1 on Friday 12 January you will be considered for any of the preferences listed higher than the preference offered in December Round 2. You can also be considered for other courses, but you must change your preferences (see below). If you want to be considered for lower preferences than the course you have been offered in December Round 2, you must remove the offered course from your preferences. If you receive a January Round 1 offer, you can either accept your January Round 1 offer and withdraw from your December Round 2 offer, or keep the December Round 2 offer and not accept the January Round 1 offer, depending on which offer you prefer.
Can I defer my offer?
Yes, most institutions allow you to delay the start of your studies for a year, but each institution has its own deferment policy. Some institutions grant deferment only in special circumstances, so check with the institution.
How do I find out what the cut-offs were?
Details of the cut-off for entry into each course will be published on at the same time as December Round 2 offers are released. Remember that cut-offs are not just ATARs as they include bonus points.
Why did I get an offer when my ATAR is below the cut-off?
Lots of Year 12 students get offers to courses even though their ATAR is below the cut-off because the cut-off includes bonus points. Institutions allocate bonus points for various circumstances such as performance in relevant HSC subjects, living or attending school in an area defined by the institution, and applying for consideration through an Educational Access Scheme.
If institutions give you bonus points, your ATAR does not change or increase, even if you receive an offer to a course with a higher cut-off. When you’re allocated bonus points, your selection rank changes. For some Year 12 students their selection rank equals just their ATAR, but for students who are given bonus points their selection rank equals their ATAR plus bonus points. The cut-offs include bonus points, so the cut-off for each course is the lowest rank (including bonus points) required for entry to that course.
What if I don’t receive an offer in December Round 2?
Don’t lose heart, and remember that there are more offer rounds to come. Your preferences will be considered again in January Round 1, but to be considered for other courses, you must change your preferences.
Why didn’t I receive an offer in December Round 2?
Some health science and medicine courses were excluded from December Round 2. See the for the full list of course exclusions. Also, you’ll be able to download correspondence by logging in to your application on 91ÌÒɫ’s website which will tell you why you didn’t receive an offer. Usually it’s because you weren’t competitive enough against other applicants.
How do I know if there are any courses with vacancies after December Round 2?
All courses still have vacancies after December Round 2 and further offers will be made in January Round 1.
Do I need to change my preferences for January Round 1?
>Change your preferences only if you want your courses to be considered in a different order to December Round 2 and/or if you want to add or substitute other courses. Remember that preferences are considered in the order in which you have listed them and that courses listed below an offered course will not be considered.
How do I change my preferences?
You can change your preferences on the My 91ÌÒÉ« mobile app or by logging in to your application on . You can change your preferences for January Round 1 from 7.30am on Thursday 21 December until midnight on Wednesday 3 January.
Which courses can I include for January Round 1?

Some courses have special entry requirements, course prerequisites and/or early application closing dates. Check the course descriptions by using the course search on .
