Undergraduate applications for 2018-19 admissions

The 91جزة« Admissions Centre (91جزة«) processes applications for admission to most undergraduate courses at participating institutions (mainly located in NSW and the ACT). 91جزة« also process applications for admission to many postgraduate courses, and calculates and provides the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) to NSW HSC students.

In addition, as part of our mission to promote equity of access to tertiary education, 91جزة« processes applications for Educational Access Schemes (EAS), Equity Scholarships (ES) and Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS).

The following data shows application and offer statistics by applicant type (Year 12, non-Year 12 and international), gender, age, institution, field of study, and region for the 2018-19 admissions periods. It has been published as part of the Higher Education Standards Panel (HESP) recommendations on improving the transparency of higher education admissions.

Undergraduate application statistics for the 2018-19 admissions period

91جزة« received 75,177 applications for undergraduate admissions and made 101,241 offers through its centralised system in the 2018-19 admissions period.*

Note

The 2018-19 admissions cycle was shorter than previous admission cycles; it ran from 1 August 2018 to 8 February 2019, where applications typically opened from early August and closed in July of the following year. Therefore the numbers in these documents are not comparable to previous admission cycles.

In these tables, 'Current Year 12' is defined as any domestic applicant with an Australian Year 12 qualification that has been attained in the current period. All other domestic applicants are in the 'Non-Year 12' category. International applicants are in the 'International' category.

International student who apply through 91جزة« are those who are not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia and who have undertaken an Australian Year 12 inside or outside Australia in the current period, an International Baccalaureate Diploma in in the current period or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 in 2018.

In all tables, cell values of fewer than 3 have been suppressed and are shown as an asterisk (*). Where possible, suppression of totals also occurred where suppressed cell counts could potentially be identified.
