Student and campus services

The University of Newcastle has a range of student support services. These include counselling, chaplaincy, academic assistance and learning support, and employment and career advice. Campus facilities include a medical centre, computing centre, sporting and recreation facilities, and a childcare centre.

The university supports a variety of student organisations, clubs and societies for students to become involved in campus life. UNSA is the , a not-for-profit organisation that supports and advocates for all students at UON.

Our support services include; academic support, peer support study, health support, counselling, religious support, career services, peer mentoring and AccessAbility.

NUsport At The Forum, University (Callaghan), and Harbourside (Newcastle City) offer state-of-the-art health and fitness facilities. You’ll find the Hunter Region’s premier 50m indoor heated swimming pool, extensive group fitness options and a range of strength and cardio equipment. Our Ourimbah campus also offers a gym and covered outdoor recreation area, providing a great place for students to be active and engaged all year round.

We have a number of facilities available across our campuses to make student life easier, including; 24/7 University libraries, medical centre and pharmacy, post office, childcare, cafe and bars, The Shop (University merchandise, plus other retailers.
